莨染という染め物の技法を用い、陶器を染めています。染料は泥と、薯莨という芋。莨染は薯莨の汁に浸けた布地（主に絹）を太陽にさらして茶色く発色させ、さらに表に鉄分の強い泥を塗り黒く変色させるというものです。
色のハゲが起こる場合があります。趣きと捉えて楽しんで頂きたいです。
This ceramic piece is dyed using a traditional technique known as ro-zome (tannin-based yam dyeing). The dyes used in this method are mud and the extract of a plant called shuliang (a type of yam). In this process, fabric—typically silk—is soaked in the yam extract and then exposed to the sun, where it develops a brown color. After that, an iron-rich mud is applied to the surface, causing it to darken and turn black.
There may be areas where the color wears off. We hope you will enjoy these as part of its unique character.
